So what makes you so different from the rest of the yahoos? GOOD QUESTION. Do you do what every one else does? Do you kinda go along with the school of fish, making sure you dress 'right', have the 'right' job, 'right' house, and so on? And, if so and you have kids, are you teaching your kids to do the same?

If so, then not much sets you apart. Well, boo, huh?

What's that you say, you WANT to set yourself apart but not quite sure how?

Well, here's the secret to doing that, and it is so easy, because everyone else shows you exactly what to do. Everyone else becomes your guide post as to what to do.

My mentor, Dani Johnson, put it simply. She says, 'If you want to stand out in life, if you want to be successful, just watch what everyone else does and do exactly the opposite.'

Well, that's easy enough. When everyone else is in debt up to their eyeballs, working paycheck to paycheck, you do the opposite. You get real and set up a realistic budget, a realistic (and fast) time frame to pay off your debt, set aside a realistic amount of $$ each month, and tithe to an organization that fills you spiritually.

When everyone else is doing the 'stupid' stuff that people do, such as working at a job they hate, you do the opposite. You either look for a job you love, or you create your own business.

When everyone else is blaming, everybody else, you will put the responsibility back on yourself and hold yourself accountable to higher standards than what is accepted.

Growing up, most of us have been trained to follow the crowd through commercials, peer pressure, media and so on. So, it might be a hard BIG habit to break.

Start small. Here's a few ideas to get you started. Get off the computer for a while. Go for a walk. Drink water instead of soda, have a piece of fruit, stop worrying about your looks (you look fine!), be friendly (that terrifies most people), get to know your mailman, get healthy by fueling your body with the good stuff, stop being so afraid of everything, take a risk here and there.

Most of the examples above aren't done by the masses. Be UN-like the masses and chances are you will find wild, crazy, fun success in your life and relationships.

Have fun.

In life we come across situations or negative thinking that may be affecting our actions or behaviors. It becomes the pebble in our shoe that causes us to change our behavior to fit the pain.

If we aren't careful, we can walk with that 'pebble' in our shoe and allow it to create a ripple affect as we move through that day and life.

Well, my friends, we cannot afford to allow the pebbles we may pick up through life to do that. We just don't have that kind of time.We just don't.

We must stop and handle that pebble. Whether that is getting right with a situation that occurred, with people, with our thinking, or our destructive actions. Whatever it takes, don't continue on with that pebble in your shoe one more mile.

If it's not cared for and handled, just like a real pebble, it can cause sores, fester, and create a life of pain. It will walk with you into everything you do. It will affect your outlook, how you handle yourself, your kids, your co-workers, your spouse, your customers, and so on.

What pebbles can be removed from your shoe? What negative thinking can
be removed from your thoughts? What perceptions are there to change in order to see things differently that may create different outcomes? What situations might you be in that can be remedied? What needs to be made right in order for you to move on free of pain and sadness and regret?

Shake the pebble from your shoe. Stop and regroup. Take the time to get yourself back into the right action. Then watch yourself go and grow.

Find Out How to Get Out of Bondage

This one thing kills marriages, kills individuals, wipes out dreams, and is a leading cause of depression. I've seen more people go down in flames because of it and has our country in a terrible space.

I'll tell you what, I've been there and it stinks. It's oppressive, debilitating, and can be so overwhelming it feels like it's hard to breathe.

I'm talking about debt. America is the richest country in the world and yet, we have the highest percent of people living paycheck to paycheck, and the majority of their income is going to pay off some form of debt.

People are drowning in debt. Working to keep up with the Joneses has gotten us in some serious trouble. We have adult sized toys like boats, atvs, motorcycles, and mroe that we can't even afford to use, because we are so broke.

If I could ever give you a piece of advice that could save your marriage, save your sanity, save your long term health, and keep you off the street, it would be to get out of debt as quickly as possible and stay out of it.

Contrary to popular belief, debt is not your friend. It's not what life is about, nor was intended to be.

If you aren't in debt, awesome. If you are, it's time to get you out and stop being a slave to that amount owed to other people.

I'm not saying it's going to be easy. We've become used to getting what we want, when we want it (which is usually now! ). This is going to require you to stop the hemorrhage of spending. But trust me, it feels so good to not owe anyone, and you will actually start making money your slave.

Over a year ago, I posted on my facebook account that I was debt free. So many of my friends and associates posted they were so happy and wished they could do it. I even had several people email and contact me asking me how I did it.

Well, today I'm going to post my secret weapon.

Now, if you scroll through my posts (which I highly recommend you do), you'll see that I rarely post a sales link, because I have to practically be moved to tears before I will recommend something on my blog.

But this program did, and I've seen and met countless others who have gotten out of high debt amounts of $3 Million, a single mom get out from under $400K. I am not kidding. All without getting another job or eating off of top ramen for years. In fact, I'm inviting friends and family over to go over the program with me so I can help them, too.

This program is so inexpensive (under $100!), and can be used over and over. Good news is, you only need to 'learn' it once, but having it include CDs, DVDs and a workbook, it allows for us to go back to it again and again. We learn from where we are, so while we learn one thing and put those tools to work, we can then go back later and catch something new that we missed the first time since we probably weren't ready for it the first time. All of this can be done at home.

Problem is, everyone wants to be out of debt, but no one wants to do the work. Trust me, it took work to get into debt. So are you ready to work to stop being someone else's slave? Would you prefer to be Visa's slave or would you prefer to have thousands in the bank? Would you prefer to be a slave to one of the big vehicle loan companies, or would prefer to get rid of that car payment and put that money towards a vacation?

This program contains all the tools necessary to get out of debt and make money your slave.

What's most impressive is, even if you aren't in debt, this program is going to give you the tools and the teachings to save more of the money you are already making.

Go to this page and order this program as quickly as possible. This is an investment that you will continue to go back to often.

If you know anyone drowning in debt and barely keeping the lights on, buy this and gift it to them.

I Refuse to Be A Slave to Debt Any Longer!

When you get this home study program, I want you to contact me so I can congratulate you for having the guts to get out of debt and for caring enough about yourself to do it.

I'm about to show you how to get more clients, customers, sign ups, friends, connections, along with others edifying you.

I'm about to show you and it's super simple. Once I learned this tip, everything changed in my life. I stopped seeing people as customers and saw them as an opportunity to serve them. That opportunity may or may not include my service.

So here it is.

You honor them. You get to know them. You ask them questions, find out about them, what their needs are and how you can fill those needs with your service. If you can't fill their needs, you offer up someone who can. You give a genuine smile, a true compliment, ask questions and clarifying questions.

We learn about the person, not what the person has to offer us, or what the person can do for us. They come before out product, our opportunity, or what we have to sell.

Become that go-giver we've talked about. Ask for a business card and ask, 'what is your ideal client?', so you know exactly who to be looking for on their behalf. Make it sincere. Don't rush through getting to know the person to get to your bottom line.

When you truly honor people it stops becoming about you and your agenda. Don't interrupt, don't talk over them, don't think about what you are going to say next, and just listen to what they are saying. That is when you are going to find their needs.

Don't ya love it when people ask about you; are genuinely interested in you? Isn't it wonderful to receive a compliment or to learn someone has spoken highly of you? Ya, me too.

You honor people. It's simple. You honor people everywhere, all the time. Not just the people you think you are going to get something from, or the people from church or work, or just when you feel like it. All the time, everywhere.

Honor people, all the time, everywhere.Jhanna Dawsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02349893854206861128noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4037436816457842456.post-67515733498172515032012-03-23T07:00:00.000-07:002012-03-23T07:00:08.209-07:00WHAT are You Thinking?!

Exactly. What are you thinking? No, really. Stop and take a moment and think about what you are thinking about.

Are your thoughts positive? Do they find the good, the silver lining? What are your thoughts about yourself?

Finish this statement for me, will you?

I AM..... (you can write it down below in the comment section)

What is the emotion behind it? Is it happy, good, sad, angry, frustrated, hurt, enthusiastic?

Was it a positive statement?

From the mouth comes the heart, right? As a man thinketh, so shall he be.

Here's one more for ya.

How you do anything is how you do everything.

How you approach something is how you approach everything.

Look at what you thought (which shows your true intention), when you saw the words I AM written above. Did you think, 'oh, JEEZ, not one of these stupid things.' I hate the whole, 'I AM' new agey statement, positive affirmation crap thing.'

New agey, possibly, biblical definitely. Regardless of the origins, what you think about comes about.

WATCH YOUR THOUGHTS AND WORDS. They are more magical, more powerful than you've ever imagined.

What do you think you've created in your life by either your negative thoughts or your positive thoughts? Tell me.

If you want to learn how to change the tape in your head from negative to positive, we'll approach that, so stay tuned!Jhanna Dawsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02349893854206861128noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4037436816457842456.post-13161125668879196342012-03-14T09:04:00.000-07:002012-03-14T09:04:43.677-07:00Your Perspective Is...

Last post, I told you about how the Universe gets our attention when it comes to changing. I brought this up because lately, I've been noticing lots or reoccurring messages throughout the day and have been putting a lot of thought into them.

So the other day, the subject of Perspective came up. Several times, I came across posts, quotes, comments, etc on perspective.

I thought, 'ok, I get it. Does my perspective need a change in an area of my life? All areas? Tell me. Please. Before you drop a brick wall on me.'

So I started paying attention to my perspective on things. I started paying attention to what I think about right when I awaken in the morning; especially the mornings when it's required that I'm up at 5am.

I started thinking about when I'm angry at someone; the thoughts that run through my head. I started paying attention to the energy I give a situation that I don't want any part of.

I took a step back and looked at how I was perceiving all of these events. Was I approaching them with a open heart, a willingness to adapt and change with circumstances? Or was I being rigid and becoming angry that I couldn't change what I wanted changed?

That is the key. The only thing I can change is myself. The personal power that I feel when I realize how my reality can change just by changing my perspective is incredible. It offers up freedom. I can change my perspective and change my thoughts towards situation. Changing my thoughts changes my actions on how I approach my circumstances. And that changes my reality.

Now while I still prefer to sleep in until 7am, when I awaken at 5am to get to they health club and teach a 6am class, I have changed my perspective from 'holy hell, it's still dark out', to 'What an opportunity for me to help others achieve their fitness goals and get them in a great frame of mind before they go out into their day.'

I look at the stinky situation I've come across and instead think, 'How can I learn while IN this process? How can I approach it with new eyes and a positive outlook? I'm grateful for the opportunity'.

A change in your perspective really can change your life in the blink of an eye.

So what is your current perspective on your biggest challenge right now, and how can changing that perspective create a positive environment for everyone involved?
How often do you notice the signs the Universe (or God or whatever you choose to call it) is giving you?

I've read the first set of signs that telling us things need to change are like a pebble being thrown at us. Just slight annoyances that, unless we are very aware of our surroundings and coming and goings, we don't notice.

If we don't notice, then the Universe says, 'hmm, ok....I'll just lob these signs of brick at them.'

Not paying attention yet? Shoot. Ok. Eventually, the Universe drops the entire wall on you so you can't help but notice. This is the cold, the broken arm or leg, the loss of a job, etc. These are big signs. But they got your attention.

If we can catch these signs before it get to the brick wall, it's going to make life a lot easier for all of us.

I bring this up because lately I've noticed when I get these signs, in the lesser degree, I can actually notice a pattern. I will see articles about something specific, see posts on different social platforms about the same topic, or hear the same specific topic on a l0 cd set of teachings.

So what things do you see repeating as you go about your day? How many times do you hear out of the ordinary sayings, or words, or topics? Pay attention to those, the Universe may be trying to help you along with something.

Now, what the topic was that I noticed today....well, I'll post about that in a day or two.

Enjoy the day!
I"m going to guess that all of us know this one inside and out.

Grow up, get a college degree, and get a job. Or just get out of high school and get a job. Stay with the job for as long as possible in hopes that you won't be downsized or fired, that can afford to keep working there, and that they keep the benefits affordable. THEN, hope to God that you have invested enough during your lifetime without depriving yourself of every possible thing that might increase your enjoyment that you can get through the end of your life without being completely broke.

Even thought this action plan sounds painfully dismal, it MUST be an awesome plan because so many of us are doing it. In fact, in our society it seems like this is the only plan available. The only alternative presented to us is to start our own business. If we buy into a franchise, it costs thousands in franchise fees alone. If we start up our own business, it means longer hours with lower pay for the first five years or more (if we succeed), and doing everything ourselves unless we hire employees, and we know what a hassle employees can be and what they can cost (see first paragraph).

Apparently, these are the only options available to us. Most people, however, go with the first plan and PRAY it will work out.

I recently read that the USPS will be cutting over 35,000 jobs here pretty quickly. The POST OFFICE. I remember when the post office was THE job to get if one wanted stability, great benefits, really good pay, and so on.

There goes that chunk of the rock. The traditional 9-5 job seems to be coming less and less. So, we've painted ourselves into a corner now, haven't we? Or have we? Well, Sunshine, there IS another option. And I want YOU to have it.

I want you to start implementing this option as soon as you are possibly able. So that, not if, but when the time comes (whether your employer decides that time or YOU do), you are ready for it. I want you to take this option and RUN with it. I want you to go as far and wide with this option as possible, showing as many people as possible so that they, too, may take advantage of this as well.

We only thrive with this option when we help others thrive.

What if.........you could start your own business for $599? Chump change compared to ANY other business model?

What if........someone else supplied the product, the shipping, the marketing, the labeling, the research, more research, and even more research?

What if.....someone else provided the paperwork, the website, the outline of the business, the employees, the UNCONDITIONAL money back guarantee?

What if.....someone else handled with the regulations and rules of creating all the product?

What if....someone else created a solid system that trains EVERYone, including yourself, at no cost to you or anyone?

And what if....there was a system in place where you knew exactly how much income you would be creating for yourself and others?

All YOU have to do is share the business and product. All YOU have to do is find people who want this freedom as well?

Let me ask, how many of you are sick of your job? Give me a show of hands

Ok, most of you. So we know there are MANY others out there aside from you that are looking for another option.

You might be thinking, WIIFM. What's In It For Me? Fair enough, let's find out.

How about...

You get....peace of mind that all of the above is taken care of in a professional manner.

You get....to have your OWN business, without the hassle of running a brick and mortar business.

You get....to serve others, knowing how miserable you are/were in your job, and others are probably in the same boat.

You get...to introduce people's dreams BACK to them.

You get...to earn as much income as YOU choose to earn, not what a boss tells you. (hey, no glass ceiling here!)

You get....the best products on the market, the best system, the best customer service, the best of the best, with the best looking out for YOUR best interests.

You get....tax benefits from having a business from home. Which means...

You get....to keep more of your hard earned money (now you get to actually pay OFF debt instead of going further into it! You get to invest and save and DO things!)

You get....to hang out with the highest calibur movers and shakers in this world. Hey, some of the richest people have taken advantage of this option.

You get....FREEDOM from the 8-5 Monday - Friday with only major holidays and weekends off.

Ok, so let's have you weight this option with your current option.

If you don't think what I just gave you is real, I'll tell you what. You can keep your job and take this option, start it (yes, you can do that with this option) and make this option your PLAN B.

Plan A can be your belief and trust that your employment will secure you and yours for a lifetime (75% of Americans over 65 are either dead or dead broke, by the way.), and you can work this option as well.

That way, you can either create extra income, just by talking about this option with others, or you can build this business until income passes your current one. Or you can do both forever. It's up to you.

Basically, with this option alone it opens up an opportunity of a lifetime.

So, what do you plan to do with this opportunity? Are you just going to set it aside and walk away knowing what you have in your hands here? Are you going to hand it off to someone else so you can watch them get all the benefits while you get into commute traffic once again?

Think about it. I mean, really mull this one over in the 'ol noggin. I'd like to hear your thoughts.

GREAT QUESTION!

I LIKE how inquisitive you are! Here's a partial list of the benefits I experience by working a home based business.

1. Personal Freedom. I structure my work day, which allows me to gain control over my life. Be careful, though. This one can get us into trouble if we don't approach the business as a business.

2. Healthier Lifestyle. I have more opportunities to have a healthy, fresh lunch and more time to create a healthy, well rounded dinner for my family. Even better, I can easily make time for my running or to teach an indoor cycling class at the local gym. Most people are fighting their weight.

3. Increased Productivity. I work best in the early morning and, therefore am able to be more productive before the entire west coast hits their first stop in the traffic jam to work. When are you most productive?

4. Better Balance Between Work and Life. I can help get my two young kids ready for school, volunteer in their classrooms, and pick them up when they get out of school. For my business, people are actually attracted to the opportunity more when they may happen to hear a child in the background giggling every now and then.

5. Low Overhead. Have you ever priced a franchise? Do you happen to have $50K laying around or are you willing to get a loan for that amount? My business start up cost was $599 for the company product and business kit. No loan needed, no saving for years, no employee costs. $599. Done.

6. Less Stress. All of the points above lead to less stress in my life compared to when I was working at a job. Even though I'm probably busier than I was at work (I had to work REAL hard to always look busy while at my job), I love what I'm doing, it fits my lifestyle choices and therefore I'm in the flow instead of feeling like fighting the current all the time. How do you feel when you get home?

Dave Ramsey was recently quoted as saying, 'Now is the worst time to get a second job, but it's the best time to start your own business.'

I can beat that. Now is the best time to start your own home based business.Jhanna Dawsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02349893854206861128noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4037436816457842456.post-76512087515834392612012-02-15T07:30:00.000-08:002012-02-15T07:30:02.193-08:00It is ALL About You Today. You get to be accountable.
You get to be responsible for your personal actions.
You get to have the power to change yourself.
You get to be your true self.
You get to leave the conditioning behind that has not served you well.
You get to stop being the victim.

You want it about you? Good. Because where you are today is all because of you. The choices you've made, the actions you've taken (or not taken) and the beliefs you decided were important. Take a look around you. What do you think?Jhanna Dawsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02349893854206861128noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4037436816457842456.post-86176608708526473702012-02-11T08:00:00.000-08:002012-02-11T08:00:01.327-08:00Do You Work for 72 Degrees?

I remember hearing this story years ago and was reminded of it tonight.

When we set a thermostat, according to many HVAC professionals, it's usually set around 72 degrees. They call this the 'dead zone'. Not too hot, not too cold. Just right in the middle.

When the system picks up that it has dropped below that temperature or goes above it, the heater or a/c kicks on and works just hard enough until the set temperature is brought back to that degree. Then the system kicks back off until it needs to adjust once again.

I was told that this is how most people go through life. We find a middle ground, no matter where it is in our life, be it relationships, work, our business, fitness levels, whatever it may be and we apply the same principle to it.

We find the 'dead zone' that requires as little work from us as possible in order to keep the system running to how we like it, and how we prefer it. Now, this doesn't mean this is a zone that serves us or others in the best possible way or it's ideal for us, it just means that it is in a place we are willing to tolerate what is going on around us.

Every now and then, however, the temperature rises or falls, and we need to act in order to bring everything back into what we think is order.

For example, relationships require a lot of work, but for many as long as we can keep it at a certain level that we find acceptable, we don't want to commit any more and energy to it than that.

At some point it's quite possible that the significant partner in the relationship starts to get a bit upset over how things are.

"You don't do this for me. We never do this. I wish we could..." and so on.

It is here we become much like the thermostat. We recognize something is not right, and we work JUST hard enough to bring that environment back into our comfort zone.

So if we, for example, have a partner that is letting us know they are not too thrilled with us at the current moment, what we wend up doing is ONLY what is necessary to get them back into OUR zone of comfort. Again, it's not about them or their level of comfort, but our own.

And we do this in so many aspects of our lives. People need to lose weight, so they get on one of those quick weight loss shake programs just long enough to drop those pounds and then go right back to eating poor food, not working out and so on, only to find themselves right back where they started.

The thermostat effect.

In order to create real change, we need to find the habit that created the reality, whatever it may be, and change that for good. Literally FOR GOOD.

So, where are you on this? Can you look at circumstances in your life where you changed or exerted extra effort just long enough to get, say, that boss or partner off your back? To get those inches off your waist? Then went right back to the old habits?

Be honest. It's when you recognize this behavior that you can start to change it.

In case you have never read his famous quote, here it is:

"Do or do not. There is no try."

Where DID the word 'try' come from and how did it manage to take such a strong hold in our vocabulary? Now that I know the power it holds over people, I cringe every time I hear it and I hear it OFTEN.

To me, the word steals personal power from the person who uses it on a regular basis. I tell my kids, 'watch your words, they hold powerful magic.'

The word 'try' is one of the most powerful words in the English and not in a good way. I'm sure you've hear, 'Trying is lyin'.'

It is one of the most dis-empowering words we can use. It gives us an 'out' from being our best. It allows us to not be held accountable for our actions.

Who are you going to have more confidence in:

"I'll try."

"I'll do my best."

Clearly, the wording, "I'll do my best." holds more power and confidence. It tells people and ourselves that our best effort is to be expected and will be given.

For me, 'trying' is a cop out. It allows for excuses and we all know what excuses are about, right?

So here's my challenge for you. REALLY pay attention to yourself and others and consciously listen for the word, 'try'. Listen to the context in which it is given and look for any results.

If you catch yourself saying it, correct yourself immediately! Learn to take the word, 'try' out of your vocabulary completely. It's a word that relays non-commitment to the outcome.

Since you are living an authentic life ( you ARE living an authentic life, right?) you'll be quick to notice and correct yourself.

Then come back and tell me your thoughts.

Allegory of Abundance

Ahhh, prosperity. Everybody wants it, it seems a select few obtain it, right? Wrong. More have it than not, they just choose to not recognize it.

Why? Because most people (not You and me, of course) only look at the money aspect of prosperity. Even, then many people are doing a lot better than they like to think. For some, it's just more fun to be the victim (oh, I'll NEVER have enough money to do what I want!)

So what defines 'prosperity' in my book? Well, instead of my book, let's take a look at what Catherine Ponder considers prosperity from her book, 'Open Your Mind to Prosperity'.

1. Prosperity includes Peace of mind. Mercy, there's a big one. Perhaps, though, peace of mind comes with the money part of prosperity? Again, we turn it around. Peace of mind can include a quiet evening, good reading, enjoyable study, an afternoon in the park.

2. Prosperity includes Harmony. Come to terms and peace with where you are right at this moment and move with what is in your life right at this moment.

3. Prosperity includes Health. BIG one that I am reminded of every time I feel off, physically, whether that is a sore muscle, chills, or feeling a bit down. It really is true, without health, nothing else matters.

4. Prosperity includes Financial plenty. Of course, we can't forget money. It's OK to include that in prosperity. Just don't make it ALL about money.

When we look at prosperity in these broader terms, it's easier to realize we are pretty danged prosperous, every day and in every way. My experience has been that when I am reminded of my current prosperity, it empowers me to bring forth more of the same. My perception shifts from impoverished to abundance.

With this small shift in perception, it can change our days from dull to bright. I invite you to apply these concepts of prosperity to your life right now and see where it takes you. Where do you find prosperity?
Yes, April fool's Day.
On June 6th, 2005 at 1:02 am I became a mom for the second time.

Since then, the decisions I make in life are heavily based on how it will effect my children. True, there have been many times when I have made decisions that didn't make them happy in that moment, however, their short and long term best interests have always played a role in my decision making.

As with countless people who join network marketing, my 'why' was and continues to be based on my kids. For me, however, it isn't just about me wanting my kids to have a good life and future, financially, with all the toys and trips that being successful in Network Marketing can provide.

Here are just a few of the reasons why I want to be in network marketing for my kids:

1. It shows them how we can get everything we want/need, by helping others get what they want/need (thank you, Zig Ziglar for that piece of advice).

2. Self-Development plays a HUGE role in network marketing. How we feel on the inside, is what we create on the outside.

3. Discipline is necessary to produce results. This is a business. If we want to get paid, we need to be disciplined enough to do the work. We reap what we sow.

4. Leadership skills, not management or micro-management skills. This business allows us to lift people up to their highest by leading them.

5. Financial skills. How to create income, how to budget it, spend it wisely, and create more. Then teach others how to do the same.

6. People skills. We learn to work with people. Life isn't a competition, and there is always enough for everyone, so settle down and get to know thy neighbor. It's good for everyone.

These are just a few skills and morals that I want to pass down to my children. Needless to say, there are many others. These aren't skills they will learn in school, but they will in Network Marketing.

The best form of teaching my kids these skills is by example. The best part is, when I associate with other Network Marketers, my kids see others using these skills.

And when I see my kids duplicating these skills and using them in their own lives, I know it will create a happier, more peaceful and prosperous life for them. And that is the best Mother's Day gift I could have.

Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful Mothers!

Warmly,

We can spend hundreds, if not thousands, on these systems if we buy into every new one that comes along.

They almost always seem like the missing link in a networker's business. "If only I had that system, I would have a huge organization. I must get that system, THEN, I'll be successful!"

Some people bounce from system to system hoping that it will the be system that works for them.

I'm not saying these systems don't work. I'm sure they are good. But before going out and throwing down all sorts of money for all sorts of systems, I want to ask...have you used your company's system that is in place first?

I mean, have you really exhausted that system, stayed with it for a year, and still not produced any results?

When I partnered with my current company, I was shocked at the system that was in place for distributors and how thorough and complete it is. It was one of the reasons I partnered with my company in the first place.

When/if you are looking at a new opportunity be sure to ask about the system that is in place and designed to support the distributors. By doing this, you are making sure that you system for success is duplicatable for your downline.

These systems are usually FREE and included in your distributorship, or cost much less than many of the programs out there. Your upline wants to see you succeed, so be sure to take advantage of the system that is already in place. Most likely, your upline is already familiar with that system and you'll be able to take advantage of their knowledge of the system.

It can keep cash in your pocket and members on your team!

Happy Weekend!
Well, we want to think we are good listeners, anyway.

But how many times during a conversation are you just waiting for the other person to finish their sentence because you are pretty sure you have something even more important to contribute to the conversation?

How many times, while someone else is speaking, are you thinking of the next thing you'll say?

Many times, during those moments, while we are thinking of what we are going to say next, we miss out on some really important thoughts the other person is expressing. Their needs, wants, desires, goals, and more can be discovered when we stop thinking for a moment and just listen. From there we can discover if we are able to help them in anyway with our opportunity, products, or can refer them to someone who can.

Tips for better listening:

1. Look the person in the eye.

2. Repeat back to the person certain thoughts to make sure you understand. For example, 'So what I hear you saying is....'. This will allow for both parties to be on the same page and let's the other person know you are listening.

3. Don't interrupt.

3. Ask follow up questions. Again for clarification and it shows the other person you are listening, not just hearing.

Start to pay attention to when you are with other people to see how you are doing with your listening skills. Then check back here and let me know how you are doing with it!

Sweet Regards,
This One Tip Can HelpI just got back from Disneyland. I took my five and eight year old for their first visit. While I enjoyed the magic and wonder through my children's eyes, I mostly experienced it this time through a marketer and business person's eyes.

From the moment we walked up to the gates of the magic kingdom, I observed the 'cast members' and how they approached the guests visiting the park.

The person who checked our napsacks smiled at us and welcomed us. My son said, 'it's our first time!', and without skipping a beat, the bag checker said, 'Great! Welcome, be sure to go to City Hall right inside the gates to get a button that says, '1st Visit'. You'll get some special attention!'

My son then also mentioned that the next day was his birthday. Again, without skipping a beat, the bag checker said, 'Go back to City Hall inside tomorrow and you'll get a button that states it's your birthday. That's load of fun too.' All was said with a genuine smile on her face.

I was blown away at the customer service the bag checker had delivered without hesitation. From then on, I watched every cast member I came in contact with to see if they held the same attitude. And they did. Each one, no matter their job. Towards the middle of the first day, I started thinking, 'what job would I want if I worked at Disneyland.'

I thought of the experience they were giving the park's guests. The only people who presented sour attitudes were the guests themselves, often becoming disgruntled for instances such as the park shutting down a ride down due to safety concerns, or the lines were too long.

Not once did a cast member break their positive attitude. I think I was mostly shocked at the approach each one had because I was comparing it to the usual poor customer service received outside the magic kingdom.

I did some research on Disney and their employment practices. I discovered that it is a lengthy process to become employed by Disney. Disney wants to make sure that the cast member wants to work there as much as Disney wants them to work there. Once hired, cast members are trained for at least two weeks before appearing in front of guests. Amazing!

After we had left Disneyland and stepped back into life outside the magic kingdom, I continued to think about the amazing attitudes of the cast members there.

When I returned home, I attended to some errands with thoughts of how awesome the experience of Disneyland customer service was. My first stop was the bank. I was painfully disappointed with the poor customer service I, and other customers received, with one teller at the bank greeting a customer by saying, 'hey, how's it going.' Not once did she smile.

The next stop was at a bix box store, informing them that I was charged twice for a product. I was told the store would have to do a full inventory on the product to make sure that over charge was correct. Basically, insinuating that I was lying about a $12 over charge.

When my son's watch that he had purchased at Disneyland stopped working, I emailed the company Disney. I received an email within 24 hours with an apology, and directions on how to send the product back for either a refund or replacement, and to be sure I included the shipping costs so I could get reimbursed for that as well.

BIG difference, don't you agree?

I tell you all of this, so you know that your customer, client, or prospect's experience of you will make all the difference in the world. If there is a choice between two distributors with the same company, I will always go with the person that is willing to offer me the best experience. No question.

Start offering the best experience to people. Step up and your business will explode.

I'd love to hear examples of great customer service that you've experienced! The more we share, the more people will realize just how important it is!
Yike.

It was mostly background noise for a bit, then I heard a story about a new website that is out there. I'm not giving the name, because I don't want anyone going there. Of course, since it's been on national news now I'm sure it will skyrocket in ratings.

The basis of the website is for people to be able to post criticisms about other people. People actually get to rate YOU. Heck, in fact they can create an account about you, so others can just rate you without doing much. Ouch. And, apparently, the only person who can take the profile down (aside from the webmaster), is the person who created the profile. You have no control over this profile.

Of course they interviewed someone about it and they stated, 'everybody has the right to criticize someone'

Doesn't that just shock you? How does this resonate with you? Personally, I'm disgusted. I couldn't believe people will spend their time and energy 'tattling' on other people instead of just finding people of a higher calibur to surround themselves with.

So, two things here. First, look around and if there is someone you just can't stand, stop hanging out with them! Step up the calibur of your friends. People don't realize that more than likely, if they are hanging out with wieners, there is a good chance that they wiener themselves, right?

Second, within five minutes of watching the news, I had turned that tv back off. It's full of crap. It's nasty stuff. Stay away from it and free your mind from what mainstream America wants you to think.

People will say to me, 'did you hear the news about...isn't it horrible? The world is CLEARLY coming to an end! The economy! What will we do! aacckk!!'

Talk about the sky is falling. Stop watching the news. Try staying away from the tv altogether for a while. You'll be amazed at how much time you have, and how much better you feel! Keep your head clear!

~Namaste,
I hope you have a very peace filled Easter weekend. Easter/Ostara/Spring, which ever you prefer to call it, is about re-birth. Rebirth of a savior, the Sun God, the Earth, opportunities in life, renewal of hope and so on. It's a very beautiful time, when we let out a long soft sigh, knowing warm weather, and longer days are on the way.

Today, take a bit time today and observe yourself with the people you are around. If you can, discover your authentic self. How you speak with friends, and family.

Then, next time you are speaking with a prospect or client, observe yourself. Is this the same authentic self you were with friends and family? Or, perhaps, you have taken on the persona of 'sales' or 'network marketing' you.

Many times, we leave the authentic self behind, thinking that is what it takes when working with clients or prospects.

Well, stop it. They don't want the network or sales person. People want to talk with you. Drop the act and be you. Use the FORM method as part of your conversation, all the time, so it becomes natural.

Then watch your closing ratios skyrocket.

Namaste,

Guess that makes sense, huh? I mean, MLM and NM IS about transforming from who you are, to who you can truly be in all your glory.

But there are times when we are just beat down. Lots of bad news on the media (I keep telling you, stop watching!), lots of 'no, I'm not interested', and giving giving giving (not that that's a BAD thing).

Well I found this little nugget of hope today and I want you to pass it along. Pass it along to EVERYone you know. Even better, bring them to this blog and have them link through from here. (can't hurt to ask spread the joy, right? ;) )

Anyhoo, it's a site called Gives Me Hope.

http://www.givesmehope.com/

GMH for short. I've started tweeting about it using the hashtag #GMH . I'm sure on Twitter people think, for the most part, think it's a business link, or there's a price attached, or some sort of catch.

But if I can get even ONE person on my followers (which is now nearing 1,000 quality followers) to link through to it and be affected by it, AND create their own 'gives me hope' moment, then I'm happy.

Go take a peek. Read some of the very short, beautiful moments. Bring kleenex. Get ready for your heart to grow 1,000%.

~Namaste',
I was recalling with business rock star, Patty Gale, about what it was like working in corporate America. I'm sure it's still the same in today's workforce (for those still employed), but I've been out of that workforce for almost 10 years, so things may have changed. And people in hell now get ice water.

Anyhoo, we were reminiscing about the days when upper management 'rewarded' the staff by having special shirt days, allowing the employees to kick off their heels, loosen their ties, and dig deep into their dresser drawers or into the back of their closet to find that crazy Hawaiian shirt, that seemed like such a good idea at the time or, in my case, the green shirt to wear on St. Patrick's day, or whatever else those wild and zany employee board members came up with.

Actually, if I remember correctly, upper management had nothing to do with those ideas anymore than they had to do with 'bring your kid to work day', but I digress.

This was when 'casual Friday' was still in its infancy, (that's a whole 'nother post) so having an opportunity to wear something that didn't have to be dry cleaned was considered their best effort at throwing the dogs a bag of bones.

So my memory was this. We all got the notice (on green paper, of course), that St. Patrick's Day was coming up. (I should be saving this post for St. Patrick's day, but oh well, I'm feeling creative today.), and we all were 'given' the opportunity to get as crazy as we could in order to celebrate this one day furlough from pinched toe shoe hell.

For me, as much as I couldn't stand my job, my best idea to celebrate was to put as much Irish Whiskey in the sludge they called coffee and actually be happy during the nine hours I had to put in.

But I didn't. I found, in my extensive collection of crap clothes that I had yet to take down to Goodwill, a greenish shirt with hints of blue in it. I knew it was pushing the envelope, but hey, WHO is to say what 'green' is? So many shades, and what if someone is color blind? I figured it was good enough, and put it on with my best pair of Levis.

Ahhhhh, never mind the color, it was a T-SHIRT & JEANS day! YA, BABY. The way I saw it, I was more productive than when I was in my 'office attire'. I was willing to be reprimanded if I could just be comfortable for once.

As I suspected, every one went stone cold crazy, wearing mile high hats with shamrocks on them, lime green and shamrock green shirts, socks, over sized clown sunglasses that were green and, dare I say, green pants.

About two hours into my workday, I was approached by the head of the 'employee morale board' (I'm not kidding) in my very official cubicle and started speaking softly to me.

"Jhanna", She leaned in and half whispered to me. "Ummmm, a few of the employee morale board members have come to me and have mentioned that your shirt really isn't (insert air quotes here) "green". You know, this is green." She gave the thumbs up to her own shocking green shirt with shamrocks emblazoned on it.

I leaned forward in my synthetic fiber office chair. "uh-huh. Go on." I said, squinting my eyes slightly to express that, perhaps, this news might actually have me concerned.

"Well, here's the thing. If you don't abide by the rules of the fun shirt day, well, we just won't have them any more. And I can understand if you don't, you know, have the (air quotes again) "funds" to purchase a real green shirt, then you'll just need to wear your normal professional office attire." (thanks for acknowledging how little the company actually paid me.)

She leaned back and stared with her head cocked to the side, and pinched her brows together, like a concerned cocker spaniel.

I wanted to pinch her arm until she cried.

I gave a sigh, slumped my shoulders a bit and said, 'I understand, and am truly, so ashamed. I mean, look at me.'

She cocked her head even further, to the point I thought it might fall off her shoulders. She gave a small smile and perked up.

"I'm glad you understand because, hey! This is supposed to be FUN! We work for such a fun company! (it was a bank), and we want everyone to have fun! Ok, then! Let's go have some green Tampico punch and shamrock cookies in the break room!"

I could not make this up if I tried. This is corporate America at its best. Or it's worst. I dunno. I'll let you decide.

As I sat in the bar that night, slurging down my beer with all the other lost business souls, I couldn't help but think, 'What the F*CK am I doing WRONG?! Why don't I get it? Why do I not fit in at ANY job I work?!"

I had answered my own question. "Why do I not fit in at ANY job I work". Because it's a JOB!

Corporate America is not intended for people to thrive. It's just not. They have a bottom line that they want to accomplish, and you are there to help fulfill that goal. their goal, not yours. You get paid a certain amount and, if you're in a 'good' job, you get two weeks vacation after exchanging fifty-two weeks of your life for it.

I'm sure some readers will say, 'Hey, now! My company is great!' Great. Live long and prosper. More power to you and 'your' company.

But the majority of people who work in a corporate J-O-B are M-I-S-E-R-A-B-L-E. It's where their dreams go to die. Nothing will kill your dreams faster.

The reason some one's dreams succeed while working at a corporate job is because the dream is to get OUT of the corporate work force.

Ok. Enough of that. Now go. Go work on your business. Go create your dream career. Go get to your MLM company's convention. Just promise me, you'll get out of the corporate world as quickly as possible.

If you don't have a social marketing company you're affiliated with, contact me. If you've got one and you don't know where to start, then contact me and we'll just talk. Just GO and release yourself from the pain of a possible Casual Shirt Friday.
If it's too late and you already have your story, let me know and I'll do my best to help you so you don't end up with another story.Jhanna Dawsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02349893854206861128noreply@blogger.com2
